I wanted to see how far I could go with acrylics, but I think I miss oils. Expect more oil paintings in the future.

Trying to keep the skills fresh while I’m busied with other projects at home. This is a friend :)

This was a fun, successful piece. By successful, I mean there’s more right going on than wrong. I want to use this a stepping stone to even better paintings as I slowly hone my process in tackling involved, dynamic work. Original size is 20” x 30”. I almost went to Kinkos to have them scan this bad boy in, but they charge a hefty 7.50 per square foot. Yikes. Scanning a painting like this in pieces and assembling them in Photoshop really doesn’t take that long to do.

So I rediscovered this painting I fleshed out a few years ago and it impresses me how well I could handle some acrylics with a little effort. I hereby title this “Hipster Kiddo.”

I paint normal people too =)
